An embedded Upper Air circulation in a trough lies in Odisha and the trough extends from the Odisha to TN coast causing LWD upto Tamil Nadu and also wind confluence forms along 13 N latitude. An weak UAC also lies off TN coast. Adding to the above, there is high moisture both in land / off the coast. As there is UAC of the coast and aswell as LWD, Rains may come from coast too.
With so many positive factors, all ingredients are there for a perfect rainy day. Core Chennai is long due for Rains and Tomorrow might be our day. The precipitation chart of two leading Numerical models are given below. Both show Evening/Night Rains.
