The remnants of cyclone Komen will continue to track westwards, bringing widespread rains in West Bengal and Jharkhand. Heavy rains would occur in these states along with scattered showers in parts of Odisha, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.Heavy thundershowers would also occur over Uttar Pradesh, NCR, Punjab and Haryana. Rains are also forecasted over the Himalayas and Jammu & Kashmir due to the interaction of a western disturbance with the monsoon trough.
Moderate rains would occur over coastal Karnataka, Goa and Konkan Coast along with light rains over northern Kerala. Evening thunderstorms would benefit central Tamil Nadu and parts of southern Tamil Nadu yet again, along with isolated showers in pockets of north Tamil Nadu. The Cauvery delta might see strong thunderstorms in the night.
Chennai – Another warm, slightly comfortable day expected with a maximum of around 35 C. Isolated showers possible in the evening/night.
Coimbatore – Warm at 33-34 C with light showers around in the evening.
Madurai – Hot weather would continue here with temperatures peaking at about 38 C. Thundershowers possible in the evening, with a high probability of rain in the nearby districts of Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram.
