  3. Blore city imd again over-reports. It reports 12.5mm where as imd aws reports 11mm. On the previous day, imd reported 79.8mm, where as aws reported 77mm. At this rate, imd rg will report atleast 5cm more than the aws if we consider for the whole year.

  4. City to get spell of rain in few days
    TNN | Sep 3, 2013, 06.34 AM IST

CHENNAI: Weathermen say residents can expect another spell of rain in the next few days.

Dark clouds that covered the city on Monday evening will shower a good amount of rain, said officials from the regional meteorological centre (RMC) in Nungambakkam.

“The clouds have formed due to convection activity. We’re expecting the rain to continue at least for two more days,” said RMC director SR Ramanan. Heavy rains are expected after midnight.

The clouds had also brought down the temperature a degree below normal on Monday. The Nungambakkam Met centre recorded 33.4C, but the afternoon was sultry, with relative humidity increasing to 74%.

Though the city received limited rains last week, heavy showers on Thursday midnight compensated the loss by increasing the amount of rainfall received this season by 18%. In place of an expected 327.7mm since the onset of southwest monsoon on June 1 till date, the city received 387.3mm rainfall.

  10. Vinoth,

u were asking for the reason that yesterday we did not get rain.

There was a trough from Rayalaseema to South TN cutting Chennai and West TN, that is why the clouds have weakened after nearing chennai.

Today that trough is weak, so we have chance.

  11. Biggest mistake Nokia made was hire Ex Microsoft man as their CEO.

Now they r paying for their mistake, by selling the handset division to Microsoft. Nokia CEO back to Microsoft as their CEO.

We might not see Nokia brand name in future. Microsoft might sell phones using their name.
