  11. Nothing has changed with our Hurricane forecast! From now until the first week of November we expect the Tropics will be on over-drive! Computer models are now showing 2 0r 3 tropical storms for the first week of September. We expect both September and October to be extremely active in both the Gulf and Atlantic. We also expect a major Hurricane will make landfall in the Gulf as well as the East Coast of the U.S. The Outter Banks Of NC down to the Florida Keys are in danger of a direct hit. A big high pressure over the northern Atlantic is going to build south and force most tropical storms that do form to move from east to west across the Atlantic and then tend to turn northwest as they approach the east coast of the US. The NC coast down to the Florida Keys will be in the target zone as well as anything in between. We expect an additional 12 named storms. We think 7 of those will become Hurricanes with 4 major Hurricanes. As you can see, we still expect a very dangerous season in the Atlantic Basin. Just be sure you have a plan of action for you and your family if you live on the coast! We will keep you up to date! Thanks! Len R. Holliday

  12. partha, regarding thai met … forecast map could be changed but they wont change their official monsoon forecast.. they hav clearly mentioned below normal rain for thailand during northeast monsoon.

  18. This is the news about yesterday’s rain in coimbatore.I myself was there in coimbatore south area.

    http://www.dinakaran.com/District_Detail.asp?Nid=226613&cat=504
    http://www.maalaimalar.com/2013/09/02122158/kovai-area-heavy-rain-10-house.html

Not sure where the gauge for coimbatore south area is located.
Imdchennai reported only 3 CM rain.

It was very heavy yesterday and easily it should have been more than 10 cm in those areas(kovai pudur, sundakkamuthur, perur)

  19. Yes Mr.Partha…Usually the NE/E/ENE winds will set by oct 10th itself…but we need a widespread rain…we will get morning TS..

but IMD will accept only when the rain is widespread ….

  20. Parthasri,

There has been repeated reminders from you to update the bloggers list and also the contest.
Please you need to understand that this site is run as a hobby and not a business. We have a million other things to do, and we try to update as and when we find time from our busy schedules.

  21. KEA,

The thing you have said now, if you had said that the first time i asked you to update the contests, i would have not repeated my comments.

I am also not here for any business.

  22. Ominous looking sky in Bangalore. Huge towering mushroom clouds all around with an odd purplish pink colour. Extending very very high in the atmosphere.the high clouds look like mist on the thunder clouds

  23. Storms have extended south like crazy!!!! Giant anvils visible to the west now!! September you beauty!!!!

  24. Only problem is storms might dissipate before reaching us 😦 Hope it doesn’t happen! They need to move faster than this!
