  3. Pradeep–This is what we were talking about yesterday night-

A fresh spell of heavy rain is likely in the State as another low pressure area formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining areas of West Bengal and north Odisha on Monday.

The system was with associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above the sea level.

    • Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Khammam, Warangal and Nalgonda districts on high alert..

Will there be anything for South AP and North TN??

  27. Super rains in Northern AP- Courtesy Low in the bay which has remained stationary without intensifying.

Several places in the State were pounded by heavy rains for a second time within a week, even as the low- pressure area remained stationary over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal without intensifying.

Adilabad recorded 10 cm of rain, resulting in floods in numerous rivulets, tanks and streams. In the same district, Sirpur reported 8 cm, Utnoor 7 cm and Adsifabad 6 cm.

Penn Ganga, a tributary of the Pranahita, was in high spate following torrential rains in its catchment areas lying in Maharashtra. A huge quantity of two lakh cusecs of floodwater was flowing down the Penn Ganga inundating many areas on its banks in the district.

The pilgrim centre of Kaleswaram received a rainfall of 5 cm. In Coastal Andhra, Narapur and Machilipatnam recorded 5 cm each, Gudiwada 4 cm and Tenali 3 cm.

Heavy to very heavy rains have been forecast for the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam on Wednesday.

  28. Heavy rains batter Khammam

Heavy rains battered several parts of the district particularly Velerupadu mandal, which recorded the highest rainfall of 25.4 mm in the last 24 hours, ending at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Incessant rains since Monday night disrupted normal life and paralysed road communication at various places in the district particularly in Bhadrachalam division. People of nearly 25 villages in Wajedu mandal continued to face severe ordeal as the vehicular movement between Cheekupalli and Perur remained suspended due to inundation of a culvert across a stream at Cheekupalli. Water level in the Godavari stood just little over 28 feet at Bhadrachalam on Tuesday evening. It is likely to go up by two to three feet in the next 12 hours owing to the discharge of surplus flood waters in the projects in the catchment areas, sources said. Taliperu project in Charla mandal received steady inflows on Tuesday.

  29. Surprisingly cool weather since yesterday night..There is some chillness in the air and not the usual humid (typical Madras) air.Different to what it was yesterday morning…Any sign of things to come??

BTW– did not use AC after a gap of 3 months yesterday night..Could easily manage..

  30. Jupi,

As i was saying 2 days back about a system could form in West or NW pacific. There is a system equallent to Soulik.

Vinson Kurian has said in his report.

Also i said yesterday that Chennai will get battered today and tomorrow.

It will happen, humidity has already touched 55%, this is not happened earlier.
