  1. hahaha nice post for me to return to 🙂

Just got back to Chennai – Hyd was really hot at the low 40s for most of last week. It was good to feel the breeze here but the humidity was terrible. More complaints tomorrow 😉

PS: new arrival terminal in Chennai airport – clean, bright and new but nowhere near the scale of Hyd and other new-age terminals. Everything appears a little cramped – dont know how it is going to shape with increased load.

  2. Mjo gaining sum momentum bfore entering into phase 4 ..mjo index diagram shows the index trying to come out of the circle bfore entering into maritime continent…. EvenThough it is moving away 4m indian ocean, chances of system in the basin remains good…

  3. The new site looks good.
    Initial suggestions are
    – Menu can be placed below the top banner with a different color, I was searching for Cola and Forca links when I first saw the new site.
    – Entire layout can be at center with respect the screen.

    I am using Firefox browser.

    • it will be very very hot ..if it moves away from us….it will take all the current heavy winds ( prevailing now) …

One..it should to come near to us..or it should not be formed..

Anyhow..in next 2 days we will know that..

  5. well known exclusive model for tc predicting the bay system… it shows the system recurving twrds myanmar with depression intensity after entering s.central bay…

  6. so early to discuss with the track…anyway climatological track for april /may system will be 90% north- n.easterly track… ontime factors also play a big role here… if the steering winds r very weak, then the system will follow the general track of n.hemisphere…westerly direction with poleward component tat is nw..

  7. Some model forecasts indicate slightly enhanced odds for a strong, low-level circulation to develop over the Bay ofBengal, but due to the high shear in the region, tropical cyclogenesis is not expected during this outlook period.

  8. New update 4m gfs says the disturbance not going to develop into a big system but as a lp it is crashing into s-s.central tn… shear playing a big role.. Disturbance intensity will depend on shear.lets c

      • do not give this silly reply as if u were there in b’lore yesterday…it was raining more than one hour in that area …65mm should be definitely there

      • ya,as shankar and vj76 mentions, surely it could be 6cms.. it poured like anything for 30 min and then torrential drizzles followed… but not much water logging though owing to decent drainage facility

      • We need to have recording from south bangalore as well. If placed in jayanagar , bannerghatta road and ecity it would help.
As of now numbers given only from Palace road and HAL AP. Thus Incorrect numbers are given. More than 1mm and 6.5mm recorded last night in JP nagar and bannerghata road for sure.

      • Yes, even domlur inner ring road which is about 2 – 3 kms from HAL AP was water logged around 1 last night.. water logging was visible from madivala all the way till bypanahalli.

      • yesterday 90% of b’lore got good rains..b’lore imd station missed out again as it always does…that area could be least wettest place in b’lore

      • IMD Bangalore daily weather report has added new stations like Hebbal TC etc from Bangalore urban district –
