  2. Very very heavy rain throughout the night in the krishnagiri-TIrupattur-VAniyambadi……radar was so damn amazing…rain over 100mm can be possible in some places in this region!!!……still strong swm showers!

  3. Hi All,

PJ nice to see the rainfall report.

There is no SE winds from today morning. Hope the wind reversing started.

    Lets keep our fingures crossed.

Remember the competition, who reports first drop of NEM rain?

  4. Karthik, yes it rained very heavily on saturday in krishnagiri..It was a cloud burst.. all the 40mm + was received in 30 mins span…It rained so heavily that nothing was visible after 100ft… At 4:30 PM, it was pitch dark outside.. But for the naked eye the cloud movement was from Norht & North West….

  5. In another 36hrs, wind direction may change to N-NE… at the same time, swm withdrawal may get into odisha,s.int karnataka, central andhra as per imd but wat i am thinking is it alrdy entered into tamilnadu n kerala….

  6. Nw winds indicates the withdrawal,as it descends down twrds s.east direction 4m north india..another case v can see nw winds, wen system in sw bay nears the coast, v can c the winds n gust 4m nw .. In next 48 hrs,Low level winds wil also change to E -NE ..

  7. imd should either come up with “south west monsoon vigorous” message or “NEM has set in tamil nadu” message….

    Salem -14 cm
    Periyakulam-10cm
    Dharmapuri,cuddalore,valparai- 8cm
    Kodaikanal-7cm
    Tirupathur-6 cm
    Kovai, Madurai – 4cm
    Trichy,Vellore,Tuticorin,Adiramapatnam,Coonoor – 3cm

It is so totally Pan Tamil Nadu…. North, North west, Delta, West, South, Deep South, Eastern side of W.ghats, Western side of W.ghats….

Chennai is the only clean zero in the list….

favourable for further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon
from remaining parts of the country; Bay of Bengal and Arabian
Sea during next 2– 3 days. Conditions are also favourable for
commencement of northeast Monsoon rains over Tamil Nadu,
Kerala and adjoining areas of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka
        around 18th – 19th October 2012.

  12. Salem at 89cm for the year…it’s doing exceptionally well considering all other places in north interior tn n karnatak are having a bad year…dharmapuri next with 65cm,vellore 60cm,tirupattur 59cm,bangalore 56cm,bangalore Ap 50cm…

  13. “Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from Telangana and North Interior Karnataka. Conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest monsoon from the remaining parts of the region during next 2-3 days.”

  14. Weak rain giving easterly wave to hit tn coast by tmrw.. Ther is a mild circulation in gulf of thailand near phuket.. Likely to move W-Nw in two days n this wil trigger strong NE current n rain for tn..

  15. Imd says NEM will set by friday 🙂 🙂

Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from Telangana and North Interior Karnataka. Conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest monsoon from the remaining parts of the region during next 2-3 days.

  17. Today might be the last day of rainfall for Interiors subject to NO Lopar/depression/cyclone crossing TN Coast this season….Remember the toppers of the chart on the day of Jal – Gingee 16cm,Ambur 13cm,Vaniyambadi 11cm,Vellore and Tirupattur 7cm…

  18. Luks like even our thunderkid is far better than Kea… 😆 Kea targetting me just to become popular and increase the count for the blog…i was of the opinion that Kea never likes publicity…but thatz not the case..as Raja suggested, luks lik Kea is the creator of VK

Kea, remember one thing..u have never won against me..and vl never happen in future also 😀

  19. Believe it or not Arjun LV was very accurate last year and this year he is predicting the following
