had a great time in the elliots beach between 7am and now..gusty winds and sharp stinging raindrops ( much better than Jal!)..while I was near the shore,the strong winds were displacing the toplayer sand and this sandspray did hurt my legs!there were seabirds haplessly trying to fly into the sea,but were stationary due to the high winds! quite a sight..now the rains are picking up in besant nagar

It was looking extremely positive this morning. The rainrate captured at JTWC was also very good..that was in the sea. If the same cloud mass had moved in, Madras city should have got around 15-20 cm and Pondy somewhere around 40 cm (20 hrs x 20 mm).
